Abbott Family Science: 2006 to 2011
Abbott, a global health care company that depends on science and innovation every day, understands the importance of cultivating an interest in science at a young age. The Abbott Fund has committed to offering Abbott Family Science programs for elementary school children and their families in Abbott plant site communities throughout the U.S. and around the world. The program directly involves Abbott scientists, engineers and other employees to work face to face with families exploring science together.
Programs have been launched in California, Ohio, Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas and Puerto Rico. Internationally the program has been introduced in China, Ireland, and Singapore. Communities continue to implement programs through a mini-grant program with the Foundation for Family Science, made possible with support from the Abbott Fund.
The March 2010 Abbott Family Science event at the Science Centre Singapore was featured in the Singapore monthly magazine Today's Parents.
